What if
Hauschka

Promotional
Poster Design

Pianist and composer Hauschka is well-known for his performances at the prepared piano. His album What If was created to bring awareness to climate change, more precisely global warming. His delicate composition expresses a sense of melancholy that drives one into a deep state of reflection and wonder. Thoughts flood one’s mind as the sound of his strings, altered by the objects he superposes on them, leaves room for such immersion.

Mandate

To design a promotional poster that translates the artist’s music visually, to promote their upcoming performance.

Design
Thinking

After listening to Hauschka’s album multiple times and analyzing the message behind it came time to visually re-interpret them. The process required blind drawings, sketching, painting and mark-making.
