Naturopathic medicine is a medicine that relies on natural remedies to optimize the healing of the body. Herbal medicine is the use of medicinal plants as a medical treatment. Some of those treatments can be altered with the help of science to enhance their effectiveness. Divine Essence is a company that produces herbal medicine for those who only rely on natural properties to treat their health system.

Mandate

To create a fall-themed mail-ordered herbal kit for Divine Essence, that includes the five most important products for fall. The solution also had to leave room for a possible déclinaison for winter, spring and summer kits.

Thinking

I sketched various approaches to find a suitable solution that was space efficient and safe to mail. The process included abstract watercolour painting, image treatment and multiple typography approaches. I relied on the help of printers to find a paper that was sturdy enough to be scored, folded and could contain the desired products.

Solution

The resulting concept is titled: Sun & Moon. The idea behind it is to market the kit for daytime and nighttime as items that have everyday uses. The goods are visually portrayed for the morning with light colours and the evening with dark colours. As all kits have items that are more useful for their particular time of the day, this notion can be extended to the line extension..
